Lift Sharing

Getting to Throssel can be complicated due to its location in a remote corner of Northumberland and the lack of public transport. There are buses to Allendale Town from Hexham, but for the last 5 miles you may have to take a taxi unless you can time your arrival in Hexham with the weekly market bus or the School buses.

The purpose of this page is to provide a bulletin board system to match up people who can give lifts from Newcastle, Hexham or elsewhere, with people needing lifts. If you can get a train to Hexham or Newcastle you may find someone who can give you a lift from there. Also you may be able to arrange shared taxis.

For reasons of security and privacy you need to login with a username and password to use this service. User accounts will be given freely on a referral basis i.e. if I have met you or know of you, or someone else I know has met you or knows of you then email me at roberts.s.p 'at' gmail 'dot' com. Or ask me while at Throssel, or if you know anyone in the Newcastle, Hexham, or Teesside groups send your request through them. I know this isn't as convenient as it could be but I just want to keep people safe.

So if you're planning to attend a retreat or festival day and can offer lifts then please use this service so you can publish your offer. Then anyone who wants a lift can 'sign up'. If you need a lift then log in, look at the page for the retreat you're planning to attend and see if there's anyone offering lifts. If not you could still leave a comment saying that you would like a lift. There may be enough stragglers to arrange a shared taxi by leaving messages for each other on the page.
