The Hexham Serene Reflection Meditation Group meets on Wednesday evenings from 7-30pm to 9-15pm in the centre of Hexham. We are lucky to be close to Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey and benefit from the teaching of a senior monk of The Order of Buddhist Contemplatives, who visits the group regularly. Our meetings are focused on meditation, both formal seated meditation and walking meditation and discussions prompted by contributions from members, who take it in turn to introduce readings which highlight aspects of Buddhist training in daily life. We usually meditate for 20 minutes , then walk for 10 minutes, then sit in mediation again for twenty minutes followed by tea and a discussion.

We aim to share the many aspects of running the group, as a way of cultivating skillful practice and any contribution is welcome - from bringing biscuits to offering to lead a discussion.

No previous experience of meditation or buddhist practice is necessary, as meditation instruction can be given.

We suggest a donation of £5 per night as a contribution towards the rent of the room

You are welcome to join with us to help develop our lively and diverse group, which has members of all ages and varieties of experience of the Buddhist Way.
