Hexham

The Hexham Serene Reflection Meditation Group usually meets on Wednesday evenings from 7-30pm to 9-15pm in the middle of Hexham. We are lucky to live close to Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey and benefit from the teaching of a Senior Monk of The Order of Buddhist Contemplatives, part of the Soto Zen Tradition of Buddhism.  A Monk will usually visit the group once a month (first Wednesday of the month). Our meetings include, formal meditation followed tea and biscuits, When we have contributions from members, who take it in turn to introduce readings which highlight aspects of Buddhist training.

We aim to share responsibility for the many aspects of running the group, as a way of cultivating skilful practice.

You are welcome to join with us to help develop our lively and diverse group, which has members of all ages and varieties of experience of the Buddhist Way. No previous experience of meditation or Buddhist practice is necessary If you are not familiar with our Tradition please arrive early and someone will take you through things and offer meditation instruction.

We suggest a donation of £5 per night as a contribution towards the room rental.
