New Venue (again)

Wednesday 16th April 2014 will be our last meeting in Haldane House. From after that date we're moving into the main church building of Jesmond United Reformed Church, not far away from Haldane House. The entrance is from Burdon Terrace down a short alleyway in between the church buildings. It's around about where the green arrow is here:,-1.6092406,77m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0

Inside the building go up the stairs, we're the door on the right at the top of the stairs.

There's plenty of parking outside which is free after 6.30pm. We'll still be meeting every Wednesday night with a 7.30 start so please be in good time for that.

Happy Christmas everyone! Just a quick announce message that there'll be no meetings over the next two weeks. Wednesday tomorrow is obviously Christmas Day, and next Wednesday is New Year's Day so there'll be no meetings on those days. The next meeting will be Wednesday 8th January.

Look forward to seeing you then, in gassho,

Day Retreat Saturday 24th August in Monkseaton

posted 27 Jul 2013, 01:56 by Steve Roberts

We're holding another day retreat with Rev. Adelin in the Monkseaton Quaker Meeting House, on Front Street, Monkseaton on Saturday 24th August. Please arrive at 8.45 or earlier for a 9.00am start. We'll have a vegetarian pot luck meal so bring something to share for that. In the afternoon we'll head out for some fresh air, and probably ice creams and coffee at Di Meo's! So it's be great if you have time to join us for that. Remember to bring your meditation equipment as we won't be able to bring much from the group. If you need any further advice or encouragement gett in touch.

Please note that the group will not be meeting on Thursday 15th August and Thursday 22nd August. The Church Hall where we meet is being redecorated so we're taking the opportunity to have a summer break. Note though that there will be a Saturday day retreat in Monkseaton with Rev. Adelin on the 24th, see separate post.

Practice Night on 23rd May

posted 9 Apr 2013, 12:42 by Steve Roberts

I've added a practice night to the schedule for the 23rd May. This is an opportunity to discuss form i.e. the ceremonial aspects of our practice. If you want to learn how to offer incense, or even precent, now's your chance. Or just take part in discussing why you think the forms are important.

New Meeting Venue - South Gosforth Parish Church Hall from 29th November 2012

posted 8 Nov 2012, 06:57 by Steve Roberts

As from Thursday 29th November we'll be meeting at South Gosforth Parish Church Hall, Wardle Street, South Gosforth. Map here.

There's a nice large hall there so plenty of space, free parking in the car park outside, metro station across the road and buses passing by in both directions so easy to get to. It's all on the ground floor so disabled access is good. Meeting times stay the same, Thursdays 7.15 ish for a 7.30 start. Until then we continue to meet at the Unitarian Church in Ellison Place as normal. Look forward to seeing you there.

Looking to Move Venue Again

posted 31 Oct 2012, 11:27 by Steve Roberts

Due to changes at the Unitarian Church we are currently looking for a new venue to meet. We hope to find somewhere by Christmas. This might entail changing the night of our meeting also. So if you don't make it regularly to the group you should keep an eye on the announcements page to make sure you don't turn up to a closed church!
